Pike County Sheriff's Department SRT officers are all experienced marksmen with in-depth training in close combat, most play a specialized role within the team. Some serve as negotiators while others are experts in handling assault vehicles or weapons. SRT members are trained and ready to respond to hostage situations, apprehension of armed and barricaded suspects, suicide intervention, warrant service under fire, high-risk search and seizure, crowd and riot control.
